The following survey maps show the density of purple loosestrife in the wetland along the Sudbury River from Ashland to Concord. This survey was supported by the Nyanza Natural Resources Damages Funds.
CISMA is coordinating a comprehensive assessment of purple loosestrife in the wetlands along the Sudbury River. Purple loosestrife locations are marked by a global positioning system (GPS), including estimates of patch sizes and patch density. The CISMA Steering Committee selected Mass Audubon, a CISMA partner, to conduct the mapping and monitoring of the purple loosestrife. This mapping project was used to determine release sites for Galerucella beetles.
